Alfa sent to prison for defiling two under age sisters in Lagos

A 38-year old cleric, Alfa Shittu Ibrahim, has been arrested and charged in Lagos State for allegedly defiling two underaged sisters for the past four years before he was exposed.

The incident happened at Akinwande Close, Ipaja area of Lagos, where they reside.

According to the Police, the suspect had been molesting the victims from when they were 14 and 8 years till 2024 when they turned 18 and 12 years respectively and asked them not to tell anyone about it until recently when they exposed him by informing their parents what Alfa was doing to them.

The matter was reported to the Family Support Unit, Ikotun Division and he was arrested and detained at the station for interrogation over his alleged conduct.

After rounds of interrogation, the Police found him culpable and consequently charged him before the Ogba Magistrate Court for the alleged offence.

However, the Court did not take his plea when he was arraigned following a motion moved by the prosecutor, Inspector Lucky Ihiehie, asking the Court to refer the matter to the DPP for legal advice because of the seriousness of the offence allegedly committed.

The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. O.A. Layinka, ordered his remand in custody at the correctional centre at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending the outcome of the DPP’s advice and directed the prosecutor to duplicate the file and send it to the DPP.

The matter was adjourned for mention for the report of the DPP’s advice to be available, which will determine if the matter will be transferred to the High Court or not over jurisdiction.
