A 45-year-old man has been arrested by the Police in Benue state for defiling his neighbour’s three years old daughter in Gboko Local Government Area of the state.

The unmarried suspect, Kalu Agwu, a businessman from Abia state resident in Gboko, has however blamed his unhealthy action on the devil.

Agwu, who was paraded at the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) in Makurdi, confessed to have committed the crime occasioned by sudden influence of satanic power which overwhelmed him at the moment.

He told newsmen that the minor came to his room and that while playing with her, certain sensation forced him into having a carnal knowledge of the little girl.

The suspect claimed to have realised what he did after the crime was committed, adding that he has continued to beg the child’s parents to forgive him.

According to him, the child was not badly hurt following medical report from the hospital where they went to check her private organ.

Meanwhile, the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Catherine Anene, said that the command will ensure diligent prosecution of the suspect and advised parents and care-givers to always pay attention and care for their children or wards particularly the girl-child.
